Kat and Phoebe discuss a blackmail sextortion scheme, a pair of rabid and possibly incestual raccoons, and the de-centered men who can’t quite hit de center of de toilet bowl.
Please do not take it personally! I too didn't wear a wedding gown, and was never into the idea of having a wedding. The thing I find off-putting isn't skipping some/all traditions but rather imagining that if you don't do all of them (and who does?) that you have somehow transcended heteronormativity or whatever. The not-like-other-girls approach to being, at the end of the day, rather like other girls.
Same. I thought “that looks like a lot of hassle and paperwork, and I already like my name just fine.” I have been rewarded for my lack of initiative at the DMV. Win-win!
Was going to mention re a couple episodes ago that Camille Paglia also discusses the chaotic feminine in Sexual Personae. I can’t give an exact quote on it because the book is so long, but here’s what Chat GPT gave me:
“Civilization and chaos
"If civilization had been left in female hands, we would still be living in grass huts". Paglia believed that civilization's greatness came from the creative tension between the male principle of order and the female principle of chaos. “
Here’s a Reddit post I ran into that seems relevant to Phoebe: woman decides she is an asexual lesbian (how do you even figure out your sexuality if you’re asexual), fixes her libido issues and realizes she might be hetero after all, asks for supplements to suppress her sex drive: https://www.reddit.com/r/Biohackers/s/4oqiwSv5Sr It’s an inverse Brokeback Mountain…
Larry David, arguably a white man, attempts to pee sitting down in Curb Your Enthusiasm, "The Weatherman", with a disastrous result.
I’m not going to take Phoebe’s wedding dress comments personally. I just do not do long and do not do white, and look a lot better in aqua.

Same! Why would I wear an unflattering color on the most-photographed day?
I also haven’t changed my last name, due to laziness. I promise I wasn’t doing either of these things at anyone.

Is “decentering” men just not talking and thinking about them so much?
I found the doodle email! I’ll dm you with a screenshot lol

"Straight Women: Myth or Legend?" by Phoebe Maltz-Bovy.
Shouldn't it be a tank top rather than a t-shirt 🤔?
