You know, I think maybe Klansmen are unlikely to attend an event run by someone named Pamela Paresky.

I love these episodes so much, I wish they were longer!

The wailing and gnashing of teeth is superbly, ironically meritocratic. "How dare a proper, prestigious outlet cover the undeserving! You shouldn't be able to get into the New Yorker unless you have high DEI scores, a fully-offset carbon footprint, and a portfolio of Equitable And Inclusive achievements!"

On cancellation fear because of Israel visit; (1) The first threat to my job came from an Equity-aligned director after I emailed about the upstate NY machete attack (Dec 2019) and my email complained about Equity claiming all hate-crime victims are non-white and all perpetrators white. Then, 1.5 yrs later at same SF-Gov job- Equity showed or discussed a YouTube activist educational documentary film, (Modern Racist Paradigm) with on-screen wording - “Global Zionist news media” (wording not exact- but message that Zionists own all news media) twice during film. Then, a Jewish co-worker complained during zoom meeting. Then, another meeting attendee responded “I thought this was supposed to be a safe space” meaning safe from people complaining about actual antisemitism. Then, everyone ignored my phone calls and email complaints about the antisemitic film presented to employees by the “oppression experts”, including all directors and HR director. (2) HR in every workplace is ready to fire any employee if a woke activist complains about activity outside of work. If applying for any job, one’s woke ranking, (although irrelevant) probably matters to HR. (3) SF State University is not safe for Jewish students. Travel to Israel, unless countered by vocal BDS-messaging, may cause one to become more of a target. Activists at SF State recently attacked an athlete speaker who is anti-gender.

As a public health witch since before I heard about other public health witches, I want to speculate on the in-group mindset of the “cancelled”. There is a degree of fear and distrust of outsiders. The woke ones, while refusing to have discussion with us are at times obsessed with discovering what we are saying and typing. A friend turned woke-spy had his husband FB-friend me so as to see my comments/posts. Another friend agreed to receive important documents I created, then “disappeared” and refused to comment on a single sentence. A PhD psychologist director working at home suddenly appeared at office on the day my manager had scheduled a telephone interrogation session with me, (I said “no comment”. ) My notebook was taken from my cubicle and then mistakenly returned to my neighbor’s cubicle at the office. In 2022, a journalist seemed to write contrarian articles based on what I posted publicly- for a while. After my Dec 2022 pediatric-Trans letter to AG Garland + AMA, APA, etc.; Health Secretary Levine without having discussion with me, tried (pathetically) to “debunk” my primary concern while speaking at a televised press conference. This is all very strange considering that I am a low-level “nobody.”

I welcome those who are not cancelled, while proceeding with caution.

The spiritual predecessor to this article was the Vanity Fair profile of Bari Weiss, the aftermath of which ten thousand pearls were clutched at the discovery that Bari is a confirmed, practicing bisexual, and maybe Kate McKinnon ought to be cancelled too, just to be safe?

Kat and Phoebe should definitely attend the weekly Manhattan witch party (cancelled) at least once. Your attendance could yield the groundwork for your new positions as executive editors of the new “Witch New Yorker” or “Witch New York Times” or “Witch Metropolitan Museum of Art”, “Witch Wall Street”, etc.

I remember hearing Mike Isaac on Chapo, when I was a listener and he's a big video game person. I remember him saying something about buying the skin of John McClain to play Call of Duty as Bruce Willis in Die Hard. THAT was the most nerd shit I've ever heard.
