Two quick comments -

1. I believe the Columbia social workers' event did in fact go ahead, on school grounds, against the university's intent to cancel it. I'm not aware of any consequences from this defiance.

2. Kat's last point about fandom really resonated. It's not just the frame by frame viewing, as if breaking down a movie clip; it's the endless cartoons that wend their way through the algorithms, with stand-ins for the author and lots of speech balloon commentary and utterly historically illiterate maps and diagrams.

[Time 24:00] Phoebe says it is justified that scheduled ‘Columbia social workers celebration of Hamas terrorism’ was shut down. I disagree because I am a free speech absolutist. As social work is a field that is adjacent to mine (behavioral health), I want to know what they say, for my research. I am preparing for a type of Nuremberg Trials v2.0 and I need to know how much harm the social workers are causing. I would have asked Kat to dye her hair blue and go to Columbia, undercover to take notes.

Thank you for mentioning Syria. The fact that a much higher death toll there got far less condemnation in the West is an interesting study in how levels of outrage depend not only on who the victims are, but who’s firing the guns.

(I only disagreed with Obama on a few issues, but his refusal to intervene in Syria in 2013 was the one time I was truly, deeply angry at him.)

1. Is their car made from hemp? 2. If you smoke their house, will you get high? 3. I don't think I have riz, but it's in your interest to say that I do to support the Feminine Chaos patron brand. 4. Very right, Phoebe--just like Little Alex in "Clockwork Orange," those Arab males just can't control themselves. To say otherwise is racist. 5. Once an Al Azhar University professor and divine argued IN THE SAME ESSAY that a) the Holocaust didn't happen; b) the Jews arranged the Holocaust to steal Palestine from the Arabs; and c) the only problem with the Holocaust is that Hitler didn't finish the job. Traction with reality and internal logic are beside the point. 5. Why are you going along with BIPOC and skin color? We all have color. Mine is salmon pink. "White" means "evil" for people who have no coherent moral philosophy; actual skin color is irrelevant. 6. For those who actually have a coherent morality, the uses of reality are not "a tough thing." In conclusion, Am Israel Chai, y'all! (from a Judeophile "ally")

Skin cancer and Israel. (1): Australia and New Zealand have highest rates. (2): Numbers are not “skin cancer rates”, but “documented skin cancer rates”. Poorer countries have less medical documentation. (3): Source was “Times of Israel”. Israeli health ministry may be in “promoting awareness” mode. (4): Palestinian man and wife at my 2018 B-day were Blond hair/blue eye.

[Time 30:00] - Hamas rapes. My theory about denial among woke is the desire to have their cake and eat it too. They are acting in bad faith and further diminishing their credibility by refusing to be honest about something so obvious. Again to be ethical, one must create a system based on rules, not reasons. That has been my policy independent of Jordan Peterson. Yesterday, I passed by SF City Hall and saw pro-Palestinian protesters with a banner and signs. I was glad that I was across the street.

Wrapped in a flag and screaming seems like a reasonable response to the utter mess. I certainly haven't got anything better.

A friend of mine posted a thing called Project Menorah that is sort of a plea for solidarity. Have you seen it and do you have thoughts? We now own the last available menorah in town, which is an interesting feeling. (Well there is a $200 inflatable at Lowe's but I'm not counting that. Even though it has a control box so you can light each candle individually! They also have a Hannukkah Nutcracker, which is just a regular Nutcracker but in a blue Santa suit, so also appropriate for Blue Santa.)
