I enjoyed your perspectives and especially appreciate your pro pregnancy discussion. I totally agree that the companies paying for abortions are about their bottom line. However, I want to push back on your "dog that caught car" and "you only think you want this." I am sure that there are opportunistic politicians who are not sincerely pro-life. I am sincerely pro-life from conception and it has been very frustrating and it comes off as condescending to say things like "you think you want this." I am very sincere in this opinion. I do not expect people to share my sincere religious conviction, but after a weekend of being called a handmaiden or worse, its a bit frustrating to hear this from basically every center left or heterodox progressive person who I respect. That said, I love the pod and welcome back to Phoebe and hope that your baby is allowing you to get some sleep.

Great discussion. I still use the term “choice”. People really need to stop out-sourcing their brain’s thinking process to an organization. I am part-way through Ayan Hirsi Ali’s book “Prey”, which explains how feminism turned its back on women (my words, not hers). We liberals need to become un-cuckoo and replace propaganda with honest discussion. In 2015, I heard a hysterical level “We live in a rape culture” about women’s safety in the USA. Then in 2020, the women’s need for safety had magically gone to zero because activists demanded that all police be abolished. On the abortion issue- the leak about the Supreme Court ruling caught me by surprise.
